I have been a resident coach at Headley Clay pigeon club in Surrey since April 2019 and experiences as follows: Undertaking the safety briefing prior to clients commencing their experiences. (x 3 per shoot day) EBT training programme for beginners, encompassing the basis health & safety, master eye, explanation, basic gun fit, grip & stance. Shooting techniques, basic hold position break position, allowing clients to see and break targets under controlled conditions in the ‘school area’. ABT training programme for beginners, encompassing all the EBT content but with focus on gun handling allowing the client to fully handle and begin to become accustomed to operating the gun, management of safety catch, and providing critique to the client for on-going progress carried out on the sporting layout on some of the targets. Acting as chaperone through the full experience. These are always a mix of people from 10 YO up to people in their 70’s. Sometimes a stag party and sometimes a ‘Team pack’ which is a mini competition (15 practice shots, 25 comp shots). I would do between 10-15 lessons per session. Usually, these lessons are for guests who have either done very little shooting or are there for an experience. One to one coaching on the sporting layout 60 or 100 bird layout over 10no stands The one-to-one lessons I deliver are normally for those who have recently obtained their certificate or are seasoned shooters who want some pointers and guidance (perhaps they have developed a bad habit.)
